Unsung Heroes of Condensate Management: ARI-CONLIFT® & ARI-CONA® P

At AVS, we are driven by the heart of the plant, everything we do is focussed on safety, efficiency and precision quality. We never compromise.

Unsung Heroes of Condensate Management: ARI-CONLIFT® & ARI-CONA® P

Quiet performers. Reliable protectors. Essential components.

In every steam and condensate system, we talk about boilers, heat exchangers, and control valves — the big players that everyone notices. But behind the scenes, two small, incredibly dependable components work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly: the ARI-CONLIFT® condensate pump and the ARI-CONA® P float-operated pump trap.
These are the unsung heroes of condensate recovery — the ones that prevent flooding, protect equipment, and keep efficiency high without ever asking for recognition.

ARI-CONA® P: The Float-Operated Pump Trap That Does It All

What makes the CONA-P® such an unsung hero is its dual-natured intelligence.
According to the spec sheet, the CONA® P automatically switches between a steam trap and a condensate pump, depending on system pressure conditions.

Why That Matters:

Condensate systems don’t always run under ideal, positive pressure.
Sometimes the pressure difference is positive — and the unit behaves as a standard steam trap.
Other times the pressure difference becomes negative — and that’s where the CONA® P becomes a mechanical condensate pump, lifting condensate from low points or vacuum conditions where normal traps fail.

Key Advantages

Directly from the product sheet, the ARI-CONA-P offers:

  • Automatic operation — no manual settings needed
  • No electricity required, reducing failure points and installation costs
  • Robust construction, with all internals in stainless steel and hardened wear parts
  • High-endurance Inconel X-750 springs for extreme reliability
  • No leakage, thanks to zero moving external parts
  • Designed for high cycle fatigue strength, making it ideal for demanding applications

Where It Shines

The spec sheet states clearly that the CONA® P is ideal for recovering condensate from:

  • Heat exchangers
  • Un-aerated vessels
  • Applications with fluctuating or even vacuum conditions

It is a master of low filling head applications too, requiring as little as 300 mm head height, with 500–1200 mm recommended for best performance.

In short — the CONA® P quietly does the job others can’t.
And that is the very definition of an unsung hero.

ARI-CONLIFT®: When Gravity Stops, The Hero Starts

Our previous Blog highlighted the CONLIFT® — and rightly so. This mechanical, power-free condensate pump automatically lifts condensate when gravity isn’t enough.
Paired with the CONA-P®, it forms a powerful combination for complete condensate recovery across tough system layouts.

Why These Components Matter More Than Ever

Steam and condensate systems rely on consistency. A flooded heat exchanger, waterlogged line, or failed trap can:

  • Cause water hammer
  • Reduce heat transfer
  • Damage equipment
  • Waste energy
  • Trigger unplanned downtime

Both the CONA® P and CONLIFT® prevent these conditions before operators even notice there’s a problem.

They work in silence, behind the scenes, ensuring the entire system remains safe, efficient, and stable.
They don’t demand attention — but they absolutely deserve recognition.

The Unsung Heroes Series Continues

This month at AVS, we’re celebrating the small components that make a big difference.
The parts people overlook.
The ones that keep everything else performing.

With the ARI-CONA® P leading this week’s spotlight, and the ARI-CONLIFT® as our previous feature, we continue showcasing the reliability and engineering excellence behind ARI Armaturen’s German-quality solutions.

Stay tuned — more unsung heroes are on the way.
